My 9th commission to date, from YuGiOh and the lesser known Duel Masters, here's Mimi and Tea/Anzu. This commission was worth $25.00.
Normally, I render out my rough linearts using Copic markers before I scan them into Photoshop. This time, the rendering was done almost entirely in Photoshop, using the Pen tools. It doesn't really give me as much control over the dynamics of the line as before, but it is a fair bit faster and the work looks cleaner for it, closer to what an actual cel production might be like.
The props and background also come together rather well in this piece, IMO. It's one of my better indoor scenes, and the colors flow together better than I expected.
The chess clock was my own personal touch, though I'm not sure how often one would be used in a card game like this. Actually I know next to nothing about either of the games, but I'm pretty sure playing a game with two different kinds of cards would be difficult...
Oh well. I'll let the fans sort out the logistics.
